Abstract

A chapter in a book concerning 'Museum Media' in a prestigious series of international museum handbooks, which reflects the strategy of including new media art in general art and curatorial discourse. The chapter offers examples of new media art in museums, and analyses open and closed systems of participation. The chapter was invited by the editor, and peer-reviewed and edited. The editors are leaders in international museums studies, and other chapters in the book include international authors Angelina Russo, Jon Ippolito and John Bell, Beat Hächler, Nils Lindahl, Fiona Candlin, Karin Harrasser, and Nancy Proctor.

The book is from a leading publisher in museums studies, and previous books have sold extremely well. Also produced as an ebook.
