Queer Voices: 2nd Annual LGBTQI+ Multidisciplinary Research Conference

Home / Events / Event
Queer Voices Conference

Over the past year, the LGBTQI+ global community has faced increased attack on their rights. Whilst in many ways, the UK is taking steps to combat discrimination and promote inclusivity, recent changes to legislation and contentious political discourse demonstrate an ongoing attempt to fracture the community. During this time, there has been an increase in LGBTQI+ related commentary. However, it is rare that the discourse facilitated and promoted in mainstream media comes directly from those with lived experience. Therefore, this conference is an opportunity for researchers across the University to share the real-life experiences of LGBTQI+ people and raise queer voices.

Hosted online by Charlotte Feather (queer activist, co-chair of the All Identities Included staff network, module leader for Gender & Diversity in Education, and founder of the LGBTQ+ Primary Hub) this FREE one-day online conference is an excellent opportunity for research active/research interested staff and students to present their work and learn from one another.

This event is open to University staff and students, as well as external academics and members of the public.
