Abstract
The Day of Social Justice (DOSJ) is an innovative assignment which requires social science students to creatively embody the principles and practice of critical community psychology. Students work in small groups to produce interactive, on-campus displays, campaigning to engage others in social justice issues with a view to enacting concrete, measurable social change. This chapter explores the roots, practices, and applications of the DOSJ as a creative method for teaching activism in higher education. It begins by considering the respective roles of social justice/activism and the arts in
community psychology.
