Abstract
In his recent book, Thimio's House (Perfect Edge 2013), composer John Kefala Kerr appropriates the literary form of the novel in pursuit of a form of 'creative musicology' that challenges traditional word-music paradigms.
In this presentation John combines extracts from his "symphonic" novel with passages of his music in order to explore the limits of music's narratology and the extent of language's musicality.
