Biography:
I am the Programme Leader for Health, Wellbeing and Care in Society in the School of Social Sciences. I also teach on the MSc Inequality and Society. I joined Sunderland University in 2018. I previously taught at the University of Brighton in the School of Applied Social Sciences for 16 years and the University of Sussex in the School of Cultural and Community Studies where I completed my MA in Applied Policy Studies. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority. Before HE I was working overseas in bi-lateral aid projects for the EU and ADB; and capacity building by helping to set up local NGOs. I have co-edited a book on Community Psychology and have multiple journal publications. I have presented my research at conferences in the UK and internationally.
