Biography:

Susan Mandala is Reader in Pragmatic Stylistics at the University of Sunderland. She obtained her PhD in English and Applied Linguistics from the University of Cambridge in 2002. Her research interests are in literary stylistics, in particular the representation of sociolinguistic and pragmatic phenomena in fiction and drama. She has published widely in this field, singly authoring two monographs as well as a number of essays and journal articles.
