Pharmacology and drug action, Statistical analysis and data modelling
Job title:
Associate Professor of Analytical Pharmacology
Biography:
I am a pharmacologist and a qualified veterinary surgeon (non-practising). I have over 30 years' experience teaching pharmacology to medical, veterinary, pharmacy and science students. I previously worked as a research pharmacologist at AstraZeneca on the project that discovered the anti-platelet drugs ticagrelor and cangrelor.
My primary academic interest is in drug action; I teach pharmacology to our Medical Students and conduct pharmacological research. I have a particular interest in drugs that affect platelet function. I also have a keen interest in the statistical analysis and modelling of laboratory data, as well as issues in medical and bio-ethics.
