I joined the University of Sunderland Business School as a Lecturer in International Human Resource Management (HRM) in October 2023. My role includes teaching and learning, subject development, assessment, research, student support and other related administrative tasks for a range of undergraduate and postgraduate business programmes.

Before joining Sunderland Business School, I was a Lecturer in Human Resource Management at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in Cape Town, South Africa. At CPUT, I lectured on various subjects which included Research Methodology, Organisational Behaviour, Statistical Methods and Business Calculations among other subjects. I was also responsible for supervising master’s degree students. Apart from that, I served in various research leadership committees at CPUT which included the Postgraduate Conference as well as the Emerging Researcher Conference. In both committees, I assisted in planning and organising the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences research conferences. I also served on the Department of Human Resources Management’s Scientific Review Committee, where I evaluated student theses and research proposals, as part of my leadership in academia. Early in my professional career, I held a variety of positions at CPUT, including Junior Lecturer, Teaching Assistant, and Tutor. Additionally, I have experience as an HR Consultant, which I gained while working at Joubert & Monty. I am a registered member of the South African Board of People Practices (SABPP).
In terms of qualifications, I hold 3 academic qualifications in HRM from CPUT: Master’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, and National Diploma. I graduated with all 3 qualifications with a cum laude in each qualification, a remarkable achievement.
As an academic, I have written a number of peer-reviewed journal publications, and have also presented at both local and international academic conferences. I regularly review journal articles for the South African Journal of Human Resource Management and also for the South African Journal of Information Management.
Within social sciences, my areas of teaching and research interests are diverse and include the following: Technology Adoption, Digital Mental health services, Sustainability, Talent Management, Research Methods & Organisational Behaviour.
