Abstract
This presentation examines the role of a subject librarian as an embedded member of a systematic review team. It explores the transition from providing search support to taking responsibility for developing a real search strategy, and highlights some of the challenges. The presentation considers the value of peer support, methodological guidance, and reflective practice in developing confidence and expertise. It concludes by identifying how deeper involvement in evidence synthesis can strengthen teaching practice, research relationships, and the visibility of library expertise within academic research.
