Abstract

The presentation charts the University of Sunderland in securing its first Management Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Speedings Limited, Sunderland's oldest manufacturer which was established in 1827. The presentation then focused on the profound impacts the mKTP Associate and the academic supervisors created through out the two year project. One in which Speedings Ltd increased it turnover and transitioned into making a profit for the first time in its history. Furthermore, the relationship witnessed additional sourcing of grants to establish a training room, a digital printing department, a new factory layout of operations and a company wide staff development from bespoke training to degree apprenticeships.
