Colin is a Lecturer in English and Creative Writing at the University of Sunderland. He is founder and director of SIN (The Scottish Irish Network). He is manager of NEICN, (The North East Irish Culture Network). He is an invited executive committee member of LIONRA, a professional business networking group for business leaders in Ireland and the North East of England. He is currently in the final year of a PhD on the notions of Inferiorism and Caledonian Antisyzygy and their application to literatures on both sides of the Anglo-Scottish borders in the early part of the nineteenth century. His edited collection entitled: Border Crossings: Narration, Nation and Imagination in Scots and Irish Literature and Culture is currently in publication with Cambridge Scholars Press.
