Biography:
Professor Alex Hope is a senior academic leader and researcher with expertise in sustainability, business ethics, and education for sustainable development.
His research explores how organizations integrate sustainability into strategy and operations, the role of business schools in advancing responsible management education, and pedagogical approaches to developing sustainability competencies in future leaders. His work combines theoretical engagement with practice-oriented inquiry, informing policy and practice across higher education, industry, and government.

Professor Alex Hope is a senior academic leader and researcher with expertise in sustainability, business ethics, and education for sustainable development.
His research explores how organizations integrate sustainability into strategy and operations, the role of business schools in advancing responsible management education, and pedagogical approaches to developing sustainability competencies in future leaders. His work combines theoretical engagement with practice-oriented inquiry, informing policy and practice across higher education, industry, and government.
Dr Hope has published in leading international journals and contributes regularly to scholarly conferences, including the Academy of Management, European Academy of Management, and UN PRME research forums. His research has informed curriculum development, accreditation frameworks, and institutional sustainability strategies across multiple contexts.
He holds international research leadership positions, including Co-Chair of the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Climate Change and Environment Working Group and membership of the AACSB Responsible Management Affinity Group. He serves as reviewer for several international journals and has supervised doctoral research in sustainable business, organizational ethics, and management education.
His current research interests include the integration of sustainability across business and technology education, the role of universities as civic anchors for regional sustainability transitions, and the development of apprenticeship models that embed sustainability competencies in professional practice.
Qualifications:
Professor Hope holds a PhD in Sustainable Development, an MA in Academic Practice, and a degree in Environmental Management.
