Abstract

Dr. Beverly Yuen Thompson is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Siena College, in Loudonville, NY. She is the author of Covered in Ink: Tattoos, Women and the Politics of the Body (NYU Press, 2015), as well as many other articles on tattooing, and other subcultures. Her forthcoming book, Digital Nomads Living on the Margins: Remote-Working Laptop Entrepreneurs in the Gig Economy (Emerald Publishing Limited, June 2021), examines the subculture of millennial remote gig workers. She is a reptile enthusiast and currently has a Thai Bamboo Rat Snake.
