Dr Christabel Ihedike holds a PhD from University of Sunderland. Prior to her doctoral research study, she obtained an MSc in Public Health from the University of Bedfordshire. Immediately after doctoral research, Dr Christabel joined the University of Sunderland as Lecture in Public health. She has holds Associate fellowship (Associated Fellow of the Higher Education Academy) in recognition of attainment against the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and learning support in higher education. As a lecturer in public health, she teaches a range of public health module across the Master’s and BSc (Hons) Public Health Practitioner Degree Apprenticeship. Christabel Ihedike is a recipient of several awards and scholarships including the State Honours’ Award, Nigeria President’s National Youth Service Corps Honours’ Award (highest honours’ award conferred to a Nigerian Youth), Plus Award for serving and supporting students in Sunderland. She also worked with Nigeria’s Ministry of Health as a Scientific and Public health officer. Christabel plays scrabble, and chess, and loves music and travelling. She is eager to teach, research collaborations and activities that heighten health and wellbeing. She is also passionate about outreach and non-academic activities across different societal sectors and enjoys giving talks related to health, environment, and Sustainability.
