Abstract
From September 2023–July 2024 a group of ten practitioners and five Higher Education workers (academic and non-academic) participated in a Facilitated Practice-based Research (©University of Sunderland) programme which positions practitioners as researchers by reframing their existing skills as research. The practitioners were from both Children’s and Adults’ Services from different local authorities and independent organisations in North-east England. The focus for the study emerged from practitioners’ own experiences and observations of recent practice issues leading to the research question: What constitutes ‘effective’ supervision in statutory social work?
In this interactive session we wills share key findings from the study exploring the changing supervision priorities throughout the social work career.
