Abstract

During the 54th edition of Art Cologne at the booth of Petra Rinck Gallery, works from the “Schleifmittel-Drawings”-series and the two small scale sculptures (“Rize” &Vertical Horizon”) were on display. The ‘Schleifmittel’-Zeichnungen (‘Abrasive-drawings’) are a series of works (oil paintings on abrasive paper) that focus on sculpture, model-like qualities, materiality and genre ambiguity. The sculptures are related to the more loosely defined “vice versas” series, comprising sculptural works and objects that explore the relationship and interplay between experimental drawing and sculptural presence.
