Abstract

This print was commissioned as part of Hadrian's Wall 1900s, a Print Show in collaboration with Northern Print.

This print was designed to capture the wonderful wilderness of the wall with the winds whipping through the rugged landscape. It is truly a remote and isolated spot that was once at the very edge of the Roman world. This print was carved out of a single lino block using a flowing, rotating style, with swirling carving dissipating from the centre outwards, capturing the force of nature and a window into the past

The work was displayed in the Northern Print Gallery as part of the Hadrian's Wall 1900s Print Exhibition.
