Abstract

This chapter outlines some key perspectives in feminist theory, namely, liberal, radical, socialists and post-sturctural feminism. Using these perspectives the authors account for the under-representation of female outdoor instructors. The authors suggest that feminist theory makes a useful contribution to an analysis of women's experiences in the outdoors.
