Abstract

The design of this cutting edge public seating commission was part of an on-going collaboration between Cate Watkinson and Dr Vanessa Cutler of Swansea Metropolitan University, creating in this instance, two public seating units in a new development in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. These artworks are situated outside the Open University building in Baltic Business Quarter.
The commission was secured by a selection process of competitive tendering from a shortlist of national artists.
