Summary
Participating in clinical research has many benefits both to our patients in terms of improving care, and to our own personal development in terms of intellectual stimulation, interacting with a different team and learning about new processes. The regulatory framework is undoubtedly daunting
but a time of great change is ending and the process should be increasingly streamlined – providing governmental funding remains adequate.
