Abstract
Dr. Matt Lodder is a Senior Lecturer in Art History & American Studies at the University of Essex. His research focuses on using art history as a lens to understand the history of western tattooing from the 17th century onward, specifically in the ""professional era"" which began in the 1880s and continues today.
