Abstract

This was an exhibition of 15 Sculptures, 5 Digital Prints and 6 Mixed Media visual diaries. And was the key dissemination point of a body of practice-based fine art research.

: In April 2012, Prof. Brian Thompson delivered a paper (with his colleague Dr Mike Collier) at the international conference ‘Words on the Page, and the Meanings Beyond: The Innovative Interpretation of Manuscripts’ held at the Wordsworth Trust. Following on from the conference, Collier and Thompson were commissioned to make new work for the Trust’s exhibition and collection addressing the research question (set by the Arts Council of England) ‘can contemporary artwork that interprets manuscripts offer new ways of seeing and understanding the manuscript material held by the Wordsworth Trust specifically, and museums in general, widening the accessibility of the manuscripts?’
