Scenes Ancient and Modern and exhibition of prints and painting at the Design gallery January - February 2017.

The paintings and prints exhibited reflected on mortality and eternity, through interpretations of shared experiences from different points of view.
Mark Todman's deceptively simple paintings grapple with loss and mortality whilst Marcia Ley's painting and prints are a celebration of life .Their work often stems from the same start subject yet the resulting interpretations are diametrically opposed.

Despite the oppositions of their positions, the artists’ work is complementary and points towards the complexity of the human experience.
