Abstract

As the lines and paradigms between traditional recording practice and DIY home studio productions blur there is still a tendency for recordings to echo the surroundings and circumstances of capture. Final 'products' tend to excuse themselves in light of this - studio recordings don't get the time to experiment whilst home productions don't have the expensive tools needed to sound 'professional'.

This project attempted to put these excuses aside in order see what would happen when a traditional 'big room' album was recorded with a 'small room' set up.
