Abstract
An analysis of the use of the arXiv by a group of active physicists: those who presented research at the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft (DPG) conference in March 2008. The simple analysis shows that the ArXiv is not a universally accepted publication medium in Physics but that participation varies significantly from subdiscipline to subdiscipline.
