Abstract

A long-term exhibition of work produced through NHS Darkroom, an ongoing participatory photography research project led by Johannah Churchill in partnership with Newcastle Hospitals Charity and the University of Sunderland. The exhibition features portraits of NHS staff made by Churchill alongside photographs developed and printed by participants in the darkrooms at the University of Sunderland's Northern Centre of Photography. Participants for this iteration included Abbas Khushnood, Gerry Jones, Shaden Zuhairy and Yann Kimpouni. The exhibition has been on permanent display at Level 3 of the Leazes Wing, RVI, since May 2023.
