Abstract

This monograph on the work of James Hutchinson focuses on works made between 2004 and 2007. Extensively illustrated it features work from the series Modernist Cross Stitch, SketchUp Sculptures, Romantic Barcodes and Blob Videos. This publication also includes documentation of Hutchinson’s work at Maison d’Auilleurs, Switzerland, The National Glass Centre, Sunderland, and the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead.

Hutchinson’s work has developed alongside the development of computing and new media technologies and is strongly informed and underscored by drawing. James Hutchinson is currently a Senior lecturer in fine art at Sunderland University and Advisor to /slab.
