Abstract
This book concentrates on the work of James Hutchinson from 2007 – 2011. Extensively illustrated, it features work form the series, Shaggy modernism, Breeze Block Beauties, The Hairy Project; performance work with H+M; as well as images from the artist’s forays into Second Life and AW.
It also includes documentation of Hutchinson’s work in the BildMuseet, Umeå University, Sweden; Museum of Craft and Folk Art, San Francisco; Gare de Metz (salons d'honneur), Metz, Lorraine; Cité des sciences et de l'Industrie, Paris; Berlin Liste, Germany; and Unit 24 Gallery, London.
James Hutchinson has exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally. He was born in London in1968, and graduated from Chelsea College of Art and Design with a degree in painting in 1990 and in fine art printmaking from The Royal College of Art in 1998. He now lives in Newcastle upon Tyne and is a Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at Sunderland University.
