Abstract

The digital divide can be more pronounced based on students personal and educational backgrounds and the access they have had to digital provision. By considering the disparity that can manifest in digital literacy levels for internationally educated nurses this has helped us to consider strategies to help support and develop their digital skills. Within the BSc (Hons) Nursing programme we have incorporated digital skills development designed to support student success, attainment and satisfaction levels. By doing so we are also helping prepare those who may want to access careers in health systems such as the NHS or other countries which have an increasing reliance on digital technologies to support healthcare and to improve employability/transferrable skills. By developing strategies to enhance digital literacy we are looking to reduce the digital divide and reduce student marginalisation.
