Abstract

This work draws on and shares the tacit learning approaches of the participants to draft a glossary. It looks at translating our implicit approaches to making into an open document, a shared lexicon.

Our workshop builds on our ‘lab’ based culture at Sunderland University, to act as a unifying force between ways of speaking. The lab is a place where unknowing is a good starting point, it offers an environment for experience, a space for practice and play. We acknowledge the different kinds of language brought to bear in the lab setting, looking closely at the tacit language of art making which is faci.ec@sunderland.ac.uk often implicit.
