Abstract
This abridged performance of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol brings new life to the beloved Victorian tale through a dynamic blend of traditional script, expressive dance, and singing, creating a rich, multi-sensory experience for audiences of all ages. Set in the heart of Beamish Museum’s Masonic Hall, this unique adaptation preserves the timeless story and its well-known characters, while enhancing accessibility and emotional resonance. Originally launched in 2022, this production has become a much-anticipated annual highlight of Beamish Museum’s Christmas Celebrations. The ongoing collaboration behind the performance reflects a shared commitment to inclusive storytelling and immersive historical engagement, ensuring that the spirit of Dickens’ message — compassion, redemption, and community — continues to shine brightly each festive season.
